Cow House Press is looking for an intern for Winter 2020! UNPAID for college credit or PAID a small stipend of $400/month. Application deadline Dec 20.
Workload: Internship will be completely virtual/work-from-home with an expectation of 10-15 hrs/week.
Duties:
Regularly monitor social media, engage and build community
Assist with creating social media content and promotional materials, newsletter, website blog, send press releases, promote CHP artists and books, and other promotional efforts
Attend and assist with live streaming events on social media feeds, virtual zine fests, etc
Assist with editorial duties such as proofreading, preparing digital files and art for printing, coordinating and updating project calendars, following up with creative teams on deadlines, etc
Assist with administrative duties such as using spreadsheets/databases to track administrative and editorial activities, writing contracts, writing marketing copy, researching publishing trends and marketing avenues etc
Assist in reviewing pitches and submissions
Identifying prospective creators and prospective projects that fit CHP’s goals
CHP believes in a mentorship model which prioritizes individual goals, fostering growth; and creating a supportive, educational environment. The CHP intern will be included in all aspects of the organization, transparent access to the entire publishing process, and individual mentorship if desired.
Qualifications:
Interested in comics, self-publishing or freelance/small business admin
If for school credit, must be a current student in their Junior or Senior year
Must have reliable internet access and technology (CHP cannot provide tech support or needs)
Weekly commitment is negotiable depending on availability, workload, and/or school credit requirements.
